Flexilube, an independent lubricant producer and waste oil re-refinery in Meyerton, Gauteng, is seeking a skilled professional to join our fast-moving production plant.
JOB TITLE: LUBRICANTS BLENDING OPERATOR
This role is to perform the Blending of Lubricants, Process Oils, Specialty Products in accordance
with the quality system, and according to the production plan whilst meeting SHEQ requirements.
The blending operator will report directly to the blending supervisor and will be responsible for the following key functions:
Job Description:

Operating Blending Equipment: Set up, operate, and monitor machines used for mixing or blending various raw materials.

Material Handling:Weigh, measure, and verify raw materials, ensuring accurate ingredient ratios and following batch specifications.

Blending Process: Utilise pumps, filters, and scales to control the mixing process and ensure proper blending.

Process Monitoring: Monitoring the blending process, including temperature, pressure, and mixing time, to ensure consistency and quality.

Quality Control: Take samples for quality control, ensuring products meet specifications.

Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of blending operations, including batch numbers, formulas, and test results as well as complete labeling.

Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and ensure proper storage and handlingof materials, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and promptly address any issues or hazards.

Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Inventory Management: Assist in inventory management and stock taking, as required

Other Duties: Assigned by the Production Supervisor
Desired Experience & Qualification:
- Matric with Core Maths
- Experience in Industrial Lubricants Blending / Production
- Ability to accurately measure and mix materials according to formulas and batch records.
- Basic Computer knowledge
Key Skills / Attributes:
- Literate and able to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Mechanical skills (filters, pumps, valves & pipes)
- Interpersonal and troubleshooting skills
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions and procedures precisely.
- Knowledge of Quality Control and Safety Procedures
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as well as stand for extended periods.
- Forklift certification a plus
